Diet Program Reviews: The Most Popular Online Offerings
If you’ve got a few pounds to lose, take heart; you’re in good company. That said, what’s the best diet for you? Which diet program suits your needs and your lifestyle the best? After all, you want a program you can stick to in the long term. That program may be one that is a little more lenient with “cheat days”, or it could involve a fairly intensive exercise program.
How do you know?
Easy… check our reviews. We’ve read—front to back—each and every diet we review, and we’ll tell you exactly what to expect from each and every one. Don’t expect the usual “any diet is a good diet” here. We’ll let you know if an author’s premise is based on sound principles, or if it’s based on nonsense. If getting through a publication is tough “slogging”, we’ll let you know that, too! We provide both praise and criticism when appropriate—what a refreshing change!
To that end, here’s a selection of reviews of the most popular online diet programs.
Bill Phillips’ The Transformation Solution
Bill Phillips is no stranger to the world of dieting and weight loss. He’s the author of the New York Times best selling “Body For Life” and the former CEO of EAS, a top sports supplement company.
And now he’s launched a new program, “The Transformation Solution.” It’s significantly different than any other diet program you may have tried or investigated, as it focuses less on the mechanics of diet and exercise (which are covered, of course), but instead focuses on “fixing” things from the inside out. It’s sort of a combination of a self-help manual and diet program all wrapped up into one, I’d say.
After plunking down my credit card and reading it cover to cover, I can say—perhaps not surprisingly—that it’s pretty darn good.
Jon Benson’s “The Every Other Day Diet”
When I saw “The Every Other Day Diet”, I thought… “Eat what you want every other day? Hey, these guys just might be on to something!”
Since the majority of conventional diets require extended periods of caloric restriction and extreme will power, it’s not surprising such diets cannot be sustained over the long haul.
But a diet based on both practicality and reality? I just had to check it out!
Tom Venuto’s “Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle”
“Burn the Fat, Feed The Muscle”, an online bestseller and quite possibly the best diet and weight loss publication I’ve ever encountered, may be a diet program you may wish to consider.
It’s a little intense, but it’s very, very good. If you’re looking for results, I highly recommend it…
Holly Rigsby’s “Fit Yummy Mummy”
Written by personal trainer Holly Rigsby, “Fit Yummy Mummy” is a diet program for moms. As a mom herself, Holly knows exactly what sort of demands are made on your time each and every day.
You don’t have to be a mom to benefit from Rigsby’s advice, however. This is a great program for any woman looking to get into shape!
Joel Marion’s “Cheat Your Way Thin”
Joel Marion is a former Body for Life champion, personal trainer, established author (he’s written for Men’s Fitness, Muscle Media, Woman’s Day, SELF, Muscle & Fitness Hers, MuscleMag International, Oxygen and more) and the brains behind the “Cheat Your Way Thin” diet program.
Hugo Rivera’s “Body Re-Engineering Program”
Those of you familiar with Hugo Rivera — pro level natural body builder, best selling fitness author, engineer, Labrada Supplements spokesperson and weight loss specialist — will probably not be surprised to hear that his publication “Body Re-Engineering” is exactly what it claims to be…
“The Ultimate Manual for the Ultimate Physique.”
“Fat Loss 4 Idiots”
“Fat Loss 4 Idiots” may not be completely foolproof, but due to its easy-to-follow online format, it is pretty straight forward. And it works.
It also presents a slightly different but entirely feasible approach to weight loss—calorie cycling.
Rob Poulos’ “Fat Burning Furnace”
Rob Poulos’ Fat Burning Furnace is—at the time of this writing anyway—a popular online bestseller, and is even available in several different languages. It’s not surprising therefore, that I’ve received numerous requests to review Mr. Poulos’ offering, and to put the hype surrounding the Fat Burning Furnace into perspective…
Craig Ballantyne’s Turbulence Training For Fat Loss and Muscle Gain
Craig Ballantyne, creator of Turbulence Training, is a well-known strength and conditioning specialist whose material has appeared in such top fitness magazines as Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Oxygen as well as many others.
Will Brink’s “Fat Loss Revealed”
Although the focus of this publication is diet supplement reviews, it features a fantastic and complete diet plan, as well as a comprehensive discussion on aerobics and resistance training. Trust me… this diet program is no afterthought. It’s well worth the price of the entire publication.
