3 Best Supplements for Intermittent Fasting
Hey there; Paul from UltimateFatBurner.com here and in this video I’m going to hit you up with 3 supplements which are really helpful ifyou are doing some intermittent fasting. I’ll be right back in just a couple of seconds, stick around, don’t go anywhere.
Alright welcome back.
So intermittent fasting is one of my favourite ways to diet.
I just find much easier than making really small meals and measuring out tiny portions of macronutrients, which in the end only seem to make me more hungry than not eating at all. Plus, there are a number of benefits associated with this type of dieting, which I will cover in another video.
Nevertheless, if you regularly fast as part of your dieting regimen, I suspect you have a couple of concerns.
The first I’m sure is the loss of lean muscle tissue.
The second may be dealing with hunger itself, and the third, which is the one I find hardest to deal with – is brain fog – I’m just not as sharp mentally, and sometimes I even find myself slurring my words.
So in this video, I’m going to present you with the 3 best supplements for intermittent fasting – based on science and my own experience. As usual, I’ve included links to supporting clinical studies in the description under this video.
So let’s get started…
#1 Branched Chain Amino Acids or BCAAS
There are two reasons why you want to consider a BCAA supplement; the first is that clinical data shows that leucine, one the branched chain aminos, can suppress your desire to eat.
The second is that supplementing with BCAAs can protect lean muscle mass.
Now if you’re not familiar with branched chain amino acids, they are simply the three aminos leucine, isoleucine and valine, and they are available in any number of commercial products, most of which are fine.
Just got to BodyBuilding.com and do search for BCAA and you’ll find plenty of options. Just make sure you get a sugar free version.
#2 Caffeine
This doesn’t have to be caffeine pills it can simply be black coffee or green tea. For me, drinking coffee while fasting does two things, the first is that it seems to suppresses my desire to eat – even though some recent clinical data suggests that it does not – and the second is that it keeps me sharper mentally, something that is a well established in the available science.
In my opinion, if you’re not drinking strong black coffee or strong green or black tea while you’re fasting you’re definitely making it harder than it needs to be.
#3 Rhodiola
Rhodilia or Rhodiolia rose or roseroot is a herbal adaptogen, and some data shows that it helps with mental focus and even mood. While there’s not a truckload of scientific evidence to support this recommendation, this is one of the very few supplements for mental focus that I found actually did anything.
Now I realize my experiences are only anecdotal and do not constitute real evidence, but considering this is a very affordable supplement with no significant downsides, I thought I would share it with you.
I use the NOW brand rhodiola 500 mg, but you can purchase whatever you are comfortable with. if you try, expect to take it a few weeks before you notice anything. One capsule per day (at the 500 mg dose) is all you need.
