Life’s Too Short to be a “Midiot”
Not being a New Yorker, I’ve had to watch “Cronut mania” from afar. And after watching for the last week or so, I still don’t get it. Jay Leno pretty much summed it up with this (rather lame) joke: I’m not a Leno fan, but “midiots” seems about right. “Cronuts” are the brain child of New York City pastry chef Dominique Ansel. As Leno says, it’s a cross between a doughnut and a...

Yuck: A Documentary
I couldn’t resist “liking” this documentary film page on Facebook. Check out the trailer: Sure, crappy school lunches have been photographed, filmed and blogged about before. What makes Zachary Maxwell’s experience a little different, however, is that this situation was supposed to have been fixed in his school/district. According to this New York Times account… Like many things in the life of a fourth...

Nothing like a greasy, fatty side dish for a greasy, fatty entree!...
Looks Like the “99 Cent Store Diet” is a Winner
I really enjoyed this story… Last week, ABC News covered the weight loss saga of “Papa Joe” Aviance, a Southern California recording artist and producer, who lost a whopping 250 pounds over an 18 month period. And he did it on a budget. He shopped for healthy foods at a “99 Cents Only Store” and walked 5 miles/day. Joe Aviance is living proof that you don’t need to spend big bucks to get into shape....
“Uhhhh… It’s Water.”
The title of this post was Number One Son’s response after I described Nestlé’s newest bottled water product, “Resource,” to him, while we were between leg press sets at the gym. According to Nestlé, however, it’s not just any ol’ bottled water! It’s… “…a premium water made specifically for ‘a woman who is a little more on the trendy side and higher-income side,’...
