I’m A Backer!

LOL, I am now an official backer of JELLOWARE : Biodegradable, Edible (and vegan!) Cups.

Seriously: I ran into “Jelloware” over on Slashfood.  Apparently the inventors – Monica Bhatia, Chelsea Briganti, Ingrid Zweifel, and Leigh Ann Tucker of TheWayWeSeeTheWorld – were runners up in a Jello mold competition; following which they decided to try to turn their creation(s) into real commercial products.

Here’s their description:

Jelloware re-imagines the concept of drinking, and imparts a new experience in the way it feels, tastes, smells, and moves. The cups are made of agar agar and cast in different flavors, such as lemon-basil, ginger-mint, or rosemary-beet, each specifically designed to compliment a corresponding drink.  Jelloware can be nibbled on while drinking and any leftover remnants can be composted.

I dunno – I found the concept rather goofily endearing, so I flogged the designers a few $$$ for their product development fund. After all, the world can use a little less waste and a little more partying. 😉
