| Protect Yourself... Don't Get Scammed!
I've recently received a whole slew of letters from
visitors who have been defrauded by one supplement
manufacturer or another. Common complaints are...
i) Clients are being added to a monthly/recurring billing program
without their consent.
ii) Merchants are refusing to terminate monthly/recurring billing.
iii) Merchants are refusing to honor refund requests.
iv) Poor, and often downright rude and insulting
customer service representatives.
More often than not, the perpetrators of such a behaviors
are the aggressive retailers of the "As Seen On TV"
products. By selling their products via TV and radio
advertisements, retailers are able to avoid much of their
accountability to the customer.

should avoid purchasing these sort of products (in most cases).

The good new is that for those of us ordering with a
credit card in North America, there IS good news!
(If you're outside of North America, please check
with your credit card company for confirmation of their policy).
Most credit card companies offer a "zero-liability" policy.
This in essence means you are not responsible for any
charges to your card that you did not authorize.
Sidebar: Some companies are more aggressive in looking after
your rights than others. I always recommend MasterCard for
ordering line, because they are very easy to deal with, and
are always eager to protect your rights. Visa's OK too, but
MasterCard's my preferred card.
If you end up being charged for products you didn't authorize,
you need to call your credit card company and do a "charge-back".
This takes the charge off your card, and places it back on the
merchant.
I've written a complete article on how to protect yourself
when purchasing fat burners and other supplements online.
Although it is focused specifically on a couple of products,
the strategies work when buying anything online.
